Volunteers sought for cleanup

Cooler temperatures and outdoor yard work go hand in hand. With that in mind, Twin Cities Restoration Foundation is sponsoring a Community Cleanup Day from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday, October 16. Participants are urged to meet at the gazebo in Pontotoc Park prior to 8 a.m. for the cleanup event.

“We will be picking up trash in both Fulton and South Fulton,” said Foundation President Kenney Etherton. “Safety vests, pickup sticks, and trash bags will be supplied.”

Everyone residing or working in the Ken-Tenn area is invited to participate.

“We would like to invite church groups, civic organizations, school clubs, Scout troops, and all citizens interested in helping our community stay clean and neat to take part in this day,” Etherton said. “The Twin Cities Restoration Foundation believes keeping the whole area clean and neat is a vital part of actually restoring the community.”

Fulton City Manager Mike Gunn and South Fulton Interim City Manager Joyce Gray have been told of the cleanup plans and are are supportive of the event.

Members of the Twin Cities Restoration Foundation include Etherton; Vice President Luke Craddock; Treasurer Amanda Morris; Secretary Harrison Hawks; and Garrett Hutchins.
